WWE NXT Results
February 21, 2018

– The show kicks off with a video package recapping the long, storied rivalry between Johnny Gargano and NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas, as well as the recent developments between Candice LeRae and Zelina Vega. Tonight Johnny Wrestling will get his fourth and FINAL shot at the champion, and if he loses he must leave the Wednesday brand forever.

NO WAY JOSE vs. VELVETEEN DREAM

The crowd was 100% behind Dream with loud “Velveteen” chants, and No Way Jose was not happy about him stealing the spotlight. Jose started off with some mean chops and a big back body drop, before dumping his opponent to the floor and following up with a plancha to the outside. This is a much more vicious Jose than we’ve seen before, as he maintains control during the commercial break with an exploder suplex into the bottom turnbuckle. Dream battled back with the crowd behind him, and only needed a Death Valley Driver into the Purple Rainmaker to turn the tide and put his opponent away.

Winner: Velveteen Dream

– Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega are shown backstage getting ready and hyped up for tonight’s main event.

– We go backstage where NXT GM William Regal is standing by for a major announcement. Regal confirms that in two weeks time we will see the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the annual tournament that will see the winners get a tag team championship shot at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

VANESSA BOURNE vs. NIKKI CROSS

Nikki goes wild with rights and lefts as the bell rings, but the referee separates them and Bourne takes a cheap shot from behind in the chaos. She drives her shoulder into the midsection in the corner and tries to slow things down with a few rest holds, but Nikki is almost reveling in the pain and it looks like she actually enjoys it. Cross hits a Thesz press and again throws wild rights and lefts, before coming off the top rope with a diving crossbody, followed by The Purge to pick up an easy victory.

Winner: Nikki Cross
