Former NWA and ECW World Heavyweight Champion Rhino made a surprise return to Impact Wrestling this Friday night, saving Brian Cage from being murdered by Michael Elgin in the main event segment of the show.

Rhino (or at least a man dressed very similar to Rhino) showed up under a mask at Impact’s recent Slammiversary pay-per-view, delivering a Gore to Big Mike, who was attempting to take out his frustrations over losing his championship match by attacking commentator Don Callis.
The 25-year veteran let his WWE contract expire earlier this month, opting to return to Impact Wrestling for the first time since 2014. For those unaware, Rhino’s history with the promotion goes back a long time. Perhaps his greatest achievement was running a massive gauntlet at the 2005 Bound for Glory PPV, winning a bloody Monster’s Ball Fatal 4-Way early in the night, then came back to win a #1 contender’s battle royal, then defeated Jeff Jarrett in the main event to win the NWA world title – all in the same night.
