WWE Continues to Tease Announcers Changing Brands in Upcoming Draft, Update on ‘Wild Card’ Rule

WWE will look to once again separate the Raw and Smackdown brands as the later prepares to move to the FOX network, beginning with a Draft that will roll out across both shows on October 9 and 12.

With recent reports indicating that WWE will also be making major changes to its commentary teams, including a possible shift of Michael Cole to Team Smackdown, speculation has definitely been high. They continued to tease this on Tuesday night when blue brand announcers Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves discussed the Draft on air, and the possibility that they may also be changing brands in three weeks time.

Phillips also confirmed at the time that the infamous Wild Card Rule will indeed come to an end once the new rosters are established in the Draft. No word on how the women’s tag team titles or the 24/7 title will be handled, although it is believed (but not confirmed) that they will still be defended across both shows.
